- Where are you from?
I’m originally from New York but moved to Tucson when I was 10 and have been in Phoenix ever since college started
- What made you become an Organizer in the hacker community?
I met a friend on a study abroad trip who asked if I wanted to help him run something awesome. Ever since then I’ve been hooked on hackathons both organizing and attending.
- What have you learned from your experience as an Organizer?
I’ve learned to always keep organized. Document what you’re working on and make sure to check that nobody has too much on their plate.
- What’s the best thing about being an Organizer?
The best thing about being an organizer is actually running the event. Everything is hectic and busy but incredibly rewarding once you realize how capable your team is at putting out fires.
- What are you looking to learn from being part of this community of Organizers?
I’m looking to learn ways to better improve as a leader. I’m fairly experienced as an organizer and have learned a lot along the way. That said, I want to get better at taking a step back and making sure others can do the same.
